Remove Virtually Any Carpet Stain With These Tips

Water-Soluble Stains

For things like latex paint, washable ink, blood, chocolate, berries, beverages, or vomit, try a mild detergent and warm water. You can make your own solution out of 1 tablespoon ammonia in 1 cup of lukewarm water, or ¼ teaspoon white vinegar in 32 ounces of water.

Wax And Oil Stains

Place ice over wax or gum until it hardens, then chip it away using a blunt knife. You can also place a paper towel over the stain then iron over it on a low setting until the stain sticks to the towel.

For glue or nail polish, try rubbing alcohol or a small amount of nail polish remover.

Pet Urine

To start, absorb or scoop up as much of the stain as possible before treating it with a homemade or store bought solution. Professional pet urine and odor removal is also a necessity at least on an annual basis.
